Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Granted app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Naveen George Thoppan, the developer of Granted (a sole trader based in Ireland, "we", "us", or "our"). By using the App you also agree to Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA).

2. Description of the App

Granted is a personal productivity application designed to help non-EU nationals living in Ireland:

• Track Irish Residence Permit (IRP) stamps and their associated dates
• Monitor progress towards citizenship and naturalisation eligibility
• Store immigration-related documents securely via iCloud
• Receive reminders for upcoming permit renewals

AI-assisted features — scanning IRP cards using optical character recognition and asking questions about residency eligibility via AI assistance — are not enabled in the current release. If these features are introduced in a future release, they will be subject to additional terms and privacy disclosures at that time (see our Privacy Policy).

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use the App. By using Granted, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. The App is intended for non-EU nationals living in Ireland.

4. Account Registration

Core features of the App are available without creating an account. An account is required for Pro features such as document storage, and for sharing to the community Application Timeline. (IRP card scanning and AI assistance are not enabled in the current release.)

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@getgranted.ie if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

5. Purchases and Payments

5.1 Free Tier

The Free tier is available at no cost and includes core stamp tracking, absence logging, citizenship eligibility monitoring, and renewal reminders. No purchase is required.

5.2 Pro

The Pro tier unlocks the Document Vault and additional Pro functionality. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase:

• Monthly subscription — €4.99 per month, auto-renewing.
• Annual subscription — €34.99 per year, auto-renewing, including a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the annual subscription begins automatically and your Apple account is charged.
• Lifetime — a one-time, non-consumable purchase of €99.99 that unlocks Pro for the lifetime of the App on your Apple ID, with no recurring charge.

5.3 Family

The Family tier extends all Pro features to up to 5 family member profiles. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase:

• Monthly subscription — €7.99 per month, auto-renewing.
• Annual subscription — €54.99 per year, auto-renewing, including a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the annual subscription begins automatically and your Apple account is charged.
• Lifetime — a one-time, non-consumable purchase of €149.99 that unlocks Family for the lifetime of the App on your Apple ID, with no recurring charge.

5.4 Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

• Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, at any time in your App Store account settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5.5 Payments and Restoration

• All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple account via the App Store. No card data is stored by us; Apple handles payment.
• You can restore a previous purchase at any time on any device signed in with the same Apple ID using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

5.6 Price Changes

For one-time lifetime purchases, the price you pay at the time of purchase is final; a later price change does not affect a purchase already made. For subscriptions, Apple will notify you of any price increase and, where required, seek your consent before the increase takes effect.

6. Your Data and Content

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the App, including stamp records, notes, and documents. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Granted's eligibility calculations depend entirely on the accuracy of the stamp records you provide.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure
• Use the App to store or transmit malicious code
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it

8. AI Features and Accuracy

An AI Eligibility Q&A feature (using large language models to answer questions about your residency situation) and AI-assisted IRP card scanning are not currently enabled. When and if these features are launched, they will be subject to additional terms and privacy disclosures, mirroring our Privacy Policy.

If introduced, any such AI-generated responses would be provided for informational and organisational purposes only, would not constitute legal advice, may contain errors or omissions, and should not be relied upon for immigration decisions. Regardless, the App's eligibility calculations are organisational aids only and do not constitute legal advice.

Always verify eligibility with the Irish Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) (irishimmigration.ie) or a qualified solicitor before making any immigration applications.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and content (excluding user data), is owned by us and protected by Irish and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.

The name "Granted," the app icon, and associated branding are proprietary to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our name, icon, or branding.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Firebase (Google), Apple iCloud, and RevenueCat. Anthropic would be used only if AI-assisted features are enabled in a future release (see §8); it is not active in the current release. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses
• The eligibility calculations are accurate or up to date with current Irish immigration law
• The App will meet your specific requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Reliance on eligibility calculations or AI responses for immigration decisions
• Loss of data
• Missed permit renewals or immigration deadlines
• Any immigration application outcomes

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Irish law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and other applicable Irish and EU consumer law, which cannot be excluded or limited.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You can delete your account via Settings → Delete My Account within the App. Deleting your account removes your account record (authentication data), your on-device records, and your documents stored in your iCloud, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please note that simply deleting the App from your device does not remove documents already saved in your iCloud Drive — use Delete My Account first, or remove them via your iCloud settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App in cases of serious misuse or breach of these Terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
